May 13, 2004US Aims for Fastest Supercomputer TitleThe United States has set its sights on becoming the country with the fastest supercomputer. The Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) announced it has been chosen to lead a partnership with the goal of building the most powerful supercomputer by 2007.
